Itinerary
The Royal Colombo Golf Club, Sri Lanka: This course is 5'770 m long (par 71). It is a flat course with broad fairways which looks simple to beginners, but there are many water hazards and well-guarded bunkers which quickly change the opinion. The Royal Colombo Golf Club is easily accessible, being 20 minutes’ drive from all first-class hotels in the city. The Royal Colombo Golf Club is an oasis in the city of Colombo surrounded by residential areas and business establishments. The Club provides its members with a facility that is beaming with historic golf memorabilia and a course that spans 96 acres. The scenic fairways, natural habitats of some rare species of fauna and flora and heart-warming smiles are just some the characteristics that makes RCGC a true oasis in the city.
Victoria Golf Club, Digana, Sri Lanka: This course is 6'190 m long (par 73) and is a championship golf course designed
by Donald Steel and was inaugurated early in 1999. The fairways are rather narrow in a hilly countryside.
Stately trees and avenues of coconuts lend the course an immediate air of maturity. Impressive natural outcrops
of rocks are a distinctive feature and indeed a hazard of the course.
Victoria Golf Club provides accommodations for the visitors, including chalets, cottages and villas.
The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Sri Lanka: This course, which is reputed to be one of Asia's finest, is 5'520 m (par 71). The fairways are long and narrow and bordered by fir trees and thick bushes. It demands skilful "position play," and the hilly terrain makes it essential that players can cope with up-hill and down-hill lies.
Located on the East coast of the island, the Eagle’s Golf course boasts a scintillating view of the water vistas of the
Marble Beach and well-kept gardens. The 171-acre golf course will test the golfing prowess of players since it has a slew
of challenges like sand bunkers and water hedges that are bound to provide a tough game. After an intense game, the
players can ease off at the clubhouse, which has a breathtaking view and serene ambience.
The pro shop at the clubhouse precinct sells golfing accessories like T-shirts, golf caps, clubs, balls and shoes.
One can purchase all golfing essentials from here on arrival as well. The Eagle’s clubhouse provides accommodation
for members as well as other players; extra slash on the price for ex-servicemen and serving military personnel,
since the place is owned and managed by the Sri Lankan Airforce. With its unique location, well-planned course and
cheaper fees, one can be assured that Eagle’s provides a top-notch golfing experience.
The Diyathalawa golf course, maintained by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) and located within the grounds of the Academy, is a golf ground that presents a challenging course along with a scenic view. A 9-hole golf course in the past, the course was recently remodelled to incorporate an 18-hole golf course with state-of-the-art facilities that is capable of hosting national as well as international events. Set close to the Diyathalawa town, the course is close to Bandarawela and Haputale and is a new venue for golfers who usually play at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. However, it is imperative that you obtain permission from the SLMA before.
Sri Lanka’s first and only golf resort is set amid a vast coconut palm plantation, offering
pectacular views and unique challenges for both casual and seasoned players. This course is
owned by the Shangri-La Hotel Group and is located next to the hotel. The abundance of nature
and wildlife, framed by lakes and the beautiful Indian Ocean, sets the scene for a most incredible
golfing experience.
Shangri-La Hotel has many different accommodation options to suit your needs.
